How We Promote Environmentally Friendly Printing
Clients expect our processes and products to be environmentally friendly. We provide leadership that supports environmental stewardship and protects our natural environments for future generations. Arandell values sustainability in both the procurement of materials and the manufacture of our products.
Waste Oils
Our waste oils are closely managed and recycled into other products.
Wastepaper
100% of our wastepaper is separated, shredded, and bailed on-site for recycling. Paper mills de-ink and process the paper back into reusable pulp where it is converted into paper towels, napkins, or facial tissue.
Inks
We have worked to perfect water-based (VOC free) inks for our ink-jetting processes. Our dryers produce heat through chemical reactions rather than petroleum-based fuel.
Material Purchasing
The steps we take early in the material purchasing process provide benefits that effect the entire manufacturing flow. We have implemented statistical process control and manufacturing requirement programs to reduce the number of raw materials that enter the manufacturing process.
Air Pollution
Arandell was the first printing company to install MEGTEC Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers in our facility and we have continued to invest in additional pollution control equipment. Our ink dryers use solvent as fuel. We use thermal air purification to remove 99.99% of all VOCs from our production.
Sustainability Certifications
Forestry Stewardship Council
The Forestry Stewardship Council promotes building a world where forests and people thrive. FSC certification requires corporations to adhere to 10 standards that define effective forest management. Initiatives include collecting and replacing raw materials to protect water, soil, and wildlife.
Sustainable Forestry Initiative
The Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) focuses on advancing sustainability thought forest-focused collaboration. Using 14 core principles, the SFI supports conservation initiatives, community engagement, and sustainable forestry education.
Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification
Since 1999, the PEFC has managed over 730 million acres of forest in compliance with established sustainability protocols. Using third-party certification, the PEFC creates forestry management outcomes that are socially just, ecologically sound, and economically viable.
