Winter Storm Liam is now bringing snow, sleet and freezing rain into the East; snow is now tapering off in the western Great Lakes and most of the Ohio Valley, but is overspreading much of the rest of the interior Northeast as far east as parts of New England. Snow is now falling in Portland, Maine, and Hartford, Connecticut, and continuing into much of New York State where freezing rain is falling as of late morning.

A few locations in eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania have already picked up 6 to 9 inches of snow, so far. Snowfall amounts in the Midwest have generally been in the 1 to 4 inch range from northern Illinois, Chicagoland, Indiana, southern Lower Michigan, and western/central Ohio.

Surrounding those winter weather advisories for the threat of snow, freezing rain and sleet have also been issued to include Louisville, Columbus, Cleveland, Detroit, Washington D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia, most of the New York City Tri-State area, Hartford and Boston.
